For pop music workshops, we are going to invite two professionals who are experienced sound engineers. During three days, they will record, edit, and mix a musical piece played by our musicians. The most interesting thing is that it will be a new studio with new acoustics, and the band will play a new song that they have never heard before. The band will include drums, a bass, keyboards, a guitar, and a lead vocal. Both invited engineers will take part in the recording session. They will be telling us why they chose certain microphones and certain techniques for each instrument. On the second day, they will edit the records and explain what they are doing and why. Also, this master class will be combined with Music Messe  Exhibition where you can see the exhibits. On the third day, the workshop will carry on two different control rooms where the sound engineers will mix the records and show two different creative visions of the same track. Two groups of students will have an opportunity to observe the process in both rooms. After that, the results will be discussed. However the main goal of this workshop is not to make a final commercial product, but rather to see all details of the recording process, to explore some interesting tips and tricks, and to understand different approaches to the work.

Russia is well-known in the world of classical music recording, so one recording session will be held in a concert hall, with a chamber orchestra and a soloist. This will be done with one of the leading experts in classical music recording who worked with many famous orchestras and recording labels.
